Alex Broadhurst is a British artist and designer living in San Francisco, California. His paintings are abstractions that explore the interaction of color and geometric shape, often experimenting with visual tension, balance and concentric repetition.

Alex’s background in modernist graphic design partly informs his art. He is inspired by renowned 20th century graphic designers including Max Bill, Paul Rand and Wim Crouwel.

After studying design at the University of Leeds in the North of England, Alex worked in London where he created designs awarded and exhibited by creative organizations including D&AD, The Design Museum, Creative Review and the International Society of Typographic Design.

In 2013 he moved to California. Today he lives and paints in San Francisco with his Irish wife, American daughter and dog.
